CEO – McNeill Real Estate Services

Mr. McNeill is currently a partner in numerous development and investment projects in Northern California. He also provides his expertise to many private investment companies and individuals on the full range of real estate decisions and operations.

Previous Experience
Mr. McNeill served as Deputy Commissioner for the State of Tennessee Department of General Services. He was recruited via a nationwide search to evaluate, reorganize and implement a program to improve the State’s facility management program. Working with existing staff and recruiting new highly skilled private sector experts, the turnaround in morale and productivity was immediate. Utilizing the RFP system, a third party facility management group was brought in and ultimately, as he predicted, made his position superfluous.

Prior to working with the State of Tennessee, Mr. McNeill was a Portfolio Manager for the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). He was responsible for the industrial real estate portfolio which encompassed more than 110 million square feet and had a market value of + $6 billion across the United States and ultimately into Mexico, Canada, and Europe. His successes included privatization of two REIT’s, Cabot Industrial Trust $2.2 billion and Centerpoint Properties $5 billion. In addition he oversaw CalPERS investments in numerous co-mingled funds including: DB global funds, Hampshire Properties, Market Street Capital, PageMill Properties, Harbert Capital, as well as providing his expertise in real estate to the overall $28 billion CalPERS Real Estate Portfolio.

Before joining CalPERS, Mr. McNeill worked as a private developer and consultant to commercial real estate ventures including Summit Commercial, overseeing development at Southport Business Park, a 640 acre mixed use development.

Before joining Summit in May 1998, he was a private consultant for four years in project management.

Earlier, Mr. McNeill worked for Hillman Properties West as a project manager, responsible for leasing and development of an extensive industrial and office portfolio in the Sacramento area. He also worked for Bechtel Investment Realty Inc. in Northern California, and was a portfolio manager for PM Realty Group in charge of the national leasing and development for the Fritz Companies portfolio.

Relevant Activities and Affiliations
Mr. McNeill has been an active member of NAIOP, previously serving as the Sacramento Chapter President, and was invited to represent NAIOP in Mexico at the Ampip conference. Mr. McNeill has served as a panelist for numerous real estate conferences. In addition to operating McNeill Real Estate Services, he is also a partner in private real estate ventures.

An active community supporter, Mr. McNeill served four terms as President of Tri-Valley Little league and continues to volunteer with numerous charities in Northern California.
