For the nearly three decades I have known Jose’, he has displayed leadership qualities in both his professional and personal life. As a thought leader at CalPERS, his portfolio management skills helped to steer the institution through some of the choppiest waters in its history. He accomplished the same while working with various municipalities in Northern California as a commercial real estate developer, helping them to guide their master plans with reasonable targets.

Each of our chosen professions includes the opportunity to give back, particularly through activities sponsored by our respective trade associations. Through many years of participation in NAIOP, Jose’ was instrumental in solidifying the FORUMs and making them the very popular catalysts for the goals of the NAIOP membership. His reliable and steady leadership displayed thru NAIOP helped make the experience more bountiful for those that were with him.

At the end of the day, we can only measure true success by our family. Jose’ has excelled in this regard. As a dutiful husband and dedicated father, he has been a critical participant in a family bond that is strong and true. Not always an easy task, especially with trying economic times, not to mention teenagers.
